Our History
South Africa and Beyond
Sigma Wear Parts first put down roots in Boksburg, South Africa in 1999, doing business as Sigma Stainless Steel, a company within the Ryan Industries group. In 2001 Sigma Parts & Abrasives was started in Australia as an independent associated company. The group then consisted of Sigma Stainless Steel, Sigma Parts & Abrasives, Thor Wear Parts, Thor Foundry and Beta Steel.
Since inception the group has had a solid foundation of exporting its products and technology to the world, with warehouse and sales in Africa, North America, Europe and Australasia.
In 2007 the various South African divisions were amalgamated into a single company, Sigma Wear Parts (Pty) Ltd, with production centred on one consolidated site. The company became a valuable supplier and resource to various industries including Automotive, pipe manufacturing, railcar facilities, foundries, mining Industry and the recycling industry.
Our ability to deliver a quality product at a competitive price and maintain a just-in-time inventory enabled us to expand business both directly and through agents on a worldwide basis.
In 2003 Sigma Wear Parts entered into an agreement whereby Sigma was able to utilise the Technology developed by Ryan Industries.
In 2011 this agreement was extended to include the RPG Powders range of products,While the name has changed, our commitment to excellence and quality product has not. We are proud to share in the Sigma team's tradition of providing world-class quality steel abrasives and invaluable technical services to our customers.
